In March 2017, Metro-Can assumed the construction of the final stages of Elements. This residential property is being developed by Sandhill Developments Ltd. Elements is conveniently situated in the heart of Langley within walking distance to Willowbrook Mall with many other amenities just across the street. This project will see the completion of one level of parking accompanied by 3 four storey condo buildings. Building D will house 68 units from studio to 3 bedrooms complete with Amenities on L1 and L2. Building E will consist of 43 units from studio to 2 bedrooms. Completion of this portion of the project is estimated to be June 2018. Building F is expected to begin construction in August 2017 and will consist of 50 units from studio to 2 bedrooms with child friendly amenities.  The anticipated completion of Building F is August 2018. 


October 2016 marks the beginning of construction of a new 94 unit condo building in the Willoughby area of Langley. This five storey complex will consist of 1 and 2 bedroom units ranging in size from 614 sq. ft. to 906 sq. ft. with 1 level of underground parking.  This area still has lots of green space and is a short distance form Highway 1.  Willowbrook Mall and the core of downtown Langley, which offers a myriad of Amenities, is just a five minute drive away.  With construction duration of 16 months, the anticipated completion date is February 2018.

EVOLVE - surrey, bc 

The excavation for Evolve began February 2016. Located in Surrey's City Centre area, this 35 storey high rise will feature 407 units in 14 different designs. This beautifully designed property with 360 degree views is being developed by Weststone Group and offers amenities that include a gourmet kitchen, fully equipped gym, theatre, sky patio & lounge with kitchen and much more. Interconnecting garden paths will connect to Central Surrey amenities and transit. A fully secured underground parkade will include secure bicycle storage. Evolve is a block from Surrey Central Skytrain station and a short walk to SFU Campus, Central City Mall and many other shopping conveniences.

The estimated completion date is Summer of 2018.


prime on the plaza - surrey, bc 

Excavation for Prime on the Plaza began January 2016. This condo and townhouse development by Reliance Properties and McDonald Development Corporation will be a 37 storey tower in the heart of downtown Surrey.  It will feature 398 units with efficient floor plans, premium fixtures & finishes, panoramic views and multiple outdoor terraces including a rooftop garden with kitchen. Floor plans include micro-lofts to 3 bedrooms ranging in size from 306  to 1410 sq. ft. The 4 plus levels of parking will have room for over 300 vehicles. Amenities include Fitness Center, Yoga & Pilates Studio, Sauna & Steam Room and much more. Prime on the Plaza is situated on University Drive and 103 Avenue and is next door to the North Surrey Recreation Center and 1 block away from the Skytrain station and Central City Shopping Center.

The Grand at Lansdowne began construction in December 2015. This 16 storey, 119 unit luxury hi-rise with spectacular views is conveniently located in the center of Richmond at Cooney and Lansdowne Roads and is within walking distance to a variety of restaurant, shopping, transit and many other amenities.

Developed by CCM Investments Group, The Grand will provide 1 & 2 bedroom condominiums, 2 level 2 bedroom townhomes and 2 & 3 bedroom penthouses. Amenities to be featured within the property will be a fitness center, lounge, outdoor courtyard  and a children's playroom.

The Grand will be build to LEED Silver equivalent standards and is estimated to be completed in the summer of 2017.

  monarch - Vancouver, bc     

Construction of the Monarch luxury residences started in November 2015 and the anticipated completion is early 2017.  Located in the heart of Vancouver and across the street from the famed Queen Elizabeth Park, this project is a part of the cities re-development of the Cambie corridor. At two blocks from the King Edward Skytrain Station, the 28th and Cambie address will house 52 luxury condos and 7 townhomes in an upscale neighborhood. The Monarch's access to such a vital transportation thoroughfare, a short distance to both downtown and to the airport will be a desired and convenient location for anyone. 

Monarch  is a 6 storey concrete structure with a 1.5 level parkade containing 66 car stalls and 80 bicycle stalls. At 66,134 sq. ft. of living space with 13 different unit layouts to choose from, this building will provide enough variety style and uniqueness for everyone.

Cambie & 61st - VANCOUVER, BC

The Cambie Street & 61st Project, developed by South Street Development Group, began construction in November 2015. This premier mid rise rental project is located along the Cambie Corridor near the Marine Gateway Skytrain Station in Marpole. Two 6-storey buildings will be constructed with 3 levels of concrete and 3 levels of wood and will consist of a total of 129 units comprised of studio, one and two bedroom suites ranging in size from 480 to 950 sq. ft. Included in the 2 levels of underground parking will be bike storage and charging stations for alternative fuel vehicles. This property will also include space for the Cambie Gospel Hall which occupied the site before development.   

Anticipated completion date is June 2017.



The Wohlsein by Jameson Development began construction in August 2015. June 2014 sees the start of construction of the new Jubilee House at 1099 Richards Street in Vancouver. This uniquely designed building developed by Brenhill Developments is a 13 storey non-market social housing development with 3 levels of underground parking and storage. This will be the replacement of the old building located across the street. The building will consist of a mix of 162 studio and one bedroom units. Rooftop common areas will be located over the 8th and 13th floors.

boheme - Vancouver, bc

The construction will start in December 2013. The Boheme project will consist of 2 levels of underground parking, 1 level of CRU units and 3 storey condo/rental units (102 suites). It will be a sophisticated new neighbourhood of white brick residences, shops and restaurants in the heart of authentic Vancouver, Boheme's modern residences combine generous private outdoor space and stylish interiors to create a truly unique living experience. The 82 homes range from approximately 420 sq. ft. Junior one bedroom to approximately 970 sq. ft. 2 bedroom units.

capstone - north Vancouver, BC

Construction of this final of 4 Fairborne buildings that include Q, Sky and Time will begin in early 2013. Capstone is located at West 2nd and Lonsdale in North Vancouver. This 6 storey terraced condo building overlooking Burrard Inlet features 71 one bedroom and two bedroom units ranging in size from 550 to 1100 sq. ft.

park royal building a - west vancouver, BC

Building A has recently been added to Metro-Can's current Park Royal Village Expansion Project and construction began January 14, 2013. Building A is one story with roof top parking, approximately 44,541 sq. ft. The roof top parking is connected to the second level of the existing mall buildings to the south and similarly to Park Royal North across Marine Drive.

The project includes the removal of the existing vehicle ramp providing access to the overhead driveway connection to Park Royal North and Park Royal South. The existing overhad driveways will be replaced with newer ones to accommodate the change in height of the roof top parking on Building A.

The anticipated occupancy of this building is a mix of restaurants, professional offices and retail businesses. Blending in with the existing Village Architecture just west of Park Royal South and the exterior finished schedule for Buildings B & C, it will feature several ground level outdoor patio areas and a western roof top patio.

August 2012 saw the start of the Riverport Flats 5 project in Richmond. This Legacy Park Lands Ltd. venture is a modern, uniquely designed building featuring 55 rental units ranging in size from one to two bedrooms. There is one level of below grade parkade along with above ground parking and commercial space. This property is the final phase of the riverfront development located at the east end of Steveston Highway along the Fraser River.

park royal village expansion - west Vancouver, bc

Metro-Can Construction began the Park Royal Village Expansion project in July 2012. The project consists of adding two and a half levels of parkade (approximately 200,000 square feet ), creating 432 new stalls. A majority of the ground floor will be renovated, adding 64,000 square feet of new commercial rental units. The new "Village" street amenities includes landscaping, way finding graphics, lighting, public art and other amenities. The north facing parkade elevation will be screened with individual glass panels mounted proud of the structure, allowing for daylight and natural ventilation. Building walls and storefronts will be expressed individually from a palette of metal panel, brick, stucco, stone, tiles and varying styles of glazing, framing and entry doors. Overhead weather protection is provided by steel/glass canopies and fabric awnings. Where important pedestrian crossings and entrance areas are under the existing parkade structure, the exposed concrete will be covered by a perforated metal soffit with recessed lighting.

With this expansion, Park Royal continues its evolution as one of Metro Vancouver's most prominent retail destinations. Since 1990 Larco Investments, the parent company of Park Royal Shopping Centre Holdings Ltd. has invested time, resourses and finances to elevate Park Royal to its current status of one of the top 15 regional shoppng centres in Canada and one of the top 3 in Metro Vancouver. It is with the same level of vision, commitment and standard of quality that Park Royal is embarking on this new expansion.

Alexandra - Vancouver, bc

In May 2012, Metro-Can began the construction of Alexandra, a 20 storey high-rise building located just steps away from English Bay and Stanley Park. This Millennium/Concord Pacific venture is located in Vancouver's original seaside neighbourhood and features an iconic architectural design with a revitalized heritage facade. Alexandra will be built to LEED Gold standards. This beautiful property will feature 85 exquisite Market suites and sky terrace residences and 49 Rentals.

riverport flats - richmond, bc

The construction of Riverport Flats began in November 2010. The building was completed and occupancy granted as of January 24, 2012.

This building is a continuation of Legacy Park Lands riverfront development at the east end of Steveston Highway. This 4 storey residential wood frame complex features 80 rental suites of various sizes ranging from studio to 2 bedroom units. It is situated in a prime waterfront location along the Fraser River which offers waterfront at your front door and everything else in your back yard.

ultra - surrey, bc

The construction of Ultra began in April 2011 and as of mid May 2012 the 31st floor vertical was being poured.

oak bay beach hotel - oak bay, bc

Viewed in the past as the historic icon of Oak Bay, the new Oak Bay Beach Hotel will be completely rebuilt on the same spectacular oceanfront lot, and will reopen as a 100 room hotel with 20 luxury residences in 2012.

Hotel and residential amenities will include a seaside therapeutic mineral pool, a fitness centre, spa, dinner theatre program, and a fine-dining restaurant. Recreated due to popular demand will be the Snug Pub, a local icon all to its own.

Olympic Village/Millennium Water - vancouver, bc

When the City of Vancouver began planning to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, Metro-Can Construction Ltd. assisted the Olympic Village Developer during the Pre-Construction phase in planning and value engineering priorities. Construction work began in early 2007 and Metro-Can successfully completed, on time, thirteen (13) high-end technically advanced buildings, eight hundred (800) units, and the elaborate civic centre under a time compressed schedule that drew on the considerable resources of the corporation and its most capable personnel. The project achieved Platinum and Gold LEED ratings, making it one of the greenest communities in North America.

After successfully meeting the needs of the athletes during the Olympics and Paralympics, the site was turned into the Millennium Water Residential Complex, comprising a mixture of housing, retail and community space.


Metro-Can managed the excavation contract for the Olympic Village – we removed over half a million cubic yards of material.
